Student expelled for too-short dress

20-year-old student, Geisy Arruda has caused quite the escándalo at a Brazilian university after supposedly disregarding “ethical principles, academic dignity and morality.” Miss Arruda was  expelled from Bandeirante University after wearing a pink mini dress to class, which resulted in mass hysteria from the student body.

She was escorted by police guards as she was mobbed by an angry crowd chanting ‘whore’, the university subsequently publishing newspaper advertisements citing that she was inadequately dressed and was “incompatible with the university environment.” After queries from the Brazilian government, the University has since reversed the decision and suspended some of the students who were caught on video heckling Miss Aruda.

This is surprising that a country known for its dental floss bikinis is taking such a sensationalised moral stance on a short dress. Sure, they’re a devoutly Catholic nation, but I’ve seen 12-year-old overly-sexualised girls at K-Mart wearing far less than Easy Geisy. If anything, she should have been wheeled out of there for those horribly tacky platform shoes.
