Test out tattoos before making a hideous mistake

I’m more flippant than most people I know. I can’t make a decision over which bow tie to wear with which shirt, so goodness knows how I could ever decide where and what I would have inked permanently to my flesh.

Now, this site is dedicated to modern social protocol so, personal taste aside, it’s our duty to report about the recent proliferation of body art. I’ve seen some shockers before—May Gibbs’ gumnut babies, a wonky smiley face surrounded by its own forest of back hair, but none worse than the logo of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast: The Musical. Uh-huh, that’s right—the outline of the Beast in black holding a rose with dropping red petal. Hideous.

Thank goodness for TatMash—a website that allows users to virtually see what they’re about to do before they defile their body. An inky cornucopia awaits the brave on the site, or users can upload their own design. If only those featured on LOLTATZ knew about this site before they were grazed with stupidity.

The pointy end of getting pricked:

  1. Always remember that tattoos are permanent, so choose wisely.
  2. Try to have tattoos placed somewhere discreet or somewhere that is easily concealed so that you won’t be turned away from a job interview for having ‘WHITE POWER’ tattooed across your right cheek.
  3. Display only when they’ll attract the right kind of attention and not induce a cardiac arrest in your 90-year-old grandmother.
  4. When you change your mind, contemplate that even though laser therapy is increasing in popularity and technological advancement, it still leaves a permanently singed skin patch; quite horrible if your new partner knows she has been the most recent addition to a long line of suitors.
