If you’ve been suffering from what my friend Emily describes as ‘Seasonal Song Stuck in Head Syndrome’, then perhaps there’s a way out for you. In Emily’s case, it’s Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You”, and apparently most of yours since I mentioned it. Sorry!
Fear not, for the website, Unhearit allows your to ‘unhear’ songs by playing a medley of even catchier songs to aid you in jingle amnesia. In my case, I was serenaded by a mash-up of N-TRANCE’s terrible version of “Stayin’ Alive” and the Black Eyed Peas’ “Let’s Get It Started” with Fergie wailing over the top, which is apt seeing as it’s Crystalmeth and all.
How effective the site is remains to be seen. And as much as I am a complete and utter grinch at the best of times, I must admit, Mariah’s vocal chords on repeat Pavlovian conditioned me to buy Christmas cakes from Selfridges (of course, darling) and give them to homeless people in the snow last year, so it can’t be that evil. Or can it? Go on, I dare you to hit ‘play’.

It’s true, I didn’t have that song stuck in my head until now.
I did have “baby it’s cold outside” though. But it’s a much nicer song to be singing on repeat in your mind.
I like mariah’s hair though. I wish I could get my hair to look like that at Christmas…
