The mere concept of a bottle stopper suggests that something is left inside the bottle in order to necessitate its existence. Often in my household there is a nary a drop to protect from evaporation save for a bottle of the devil’s poison—Polish gooseberry fortified liqueur—left over by a kraut with a death wish.
The good folk at Orrefors have released a range of crystal bottle stoppers and glasses inspired by architecture. Designed by the brand’s Lena Bergström, each evokes the skylines of New York, Tokyo and Stockholm.
“The glasses are stable on their heavy facet-cut bases that feature an olive-shaped pattern, and the bowl of the glasses provides a feminine and elegant touch.”
With a highball, a tumbler and martini-style glasses, three styles of bottle stopper along with matching candlesticks and candle holders in the appropriately named “Carat” collection, individual pieces range from $50-150, which is a steal to own your piece of real estate in three of the world’s most expensive cities.
