A former New York Times art director, Mr Rudolph Resta left his wallet in his jacket pocket in 1970 but when he went out for a lunch it was gone. Forty years later, a security guard, Mr José Cisneros discovered it lodged in the wall of the publications former offices in Times Square and began the hunt for Mr Resta.
Reunited with his belongings, Mr Resta rediscovered long-forgotten memories, including a purple-and-white American Express card, obituaries, business cards and a picture of his wife wearing my latest obsession, a jaguar mink stole.
It warms your heart when you hear that there are stil honest people still in the world. You can view additional photos and a moving video of the reunion on the New York Times website.
