Flying Solo: Private Jets for Holiday Destinations

Itching to go on holiday but horrified by the waiting around and the mini-buses to your luxury destination?Even a taxi seems like so much work sometimes. When I want to relax, I want no decisions and maximum comfort. What is a renaissance man or woman to do?

Launched last month, Mauiva AirCruise transports its clients by private jet so they don’t have to waste time lingering with the hoi polloi. With two itineraries this northern hemisphere summer—the All-American East Experience and the Western Wonder Experience—they hope to provide travellers 23 to 37 hours less travel time compared with a road trip. All transport is via a private plane and coaches for shorter trips. Customers experience first class accommodation and most things are included in the package cost.

If Mauiva doesn’t offer the route you need, why not try StndAIR, which provides private services for New Yorkers to get to the Hamptons without battling the traffic, which can be simply horrendous at this time of year.

Or if the Hamptons are too hackneyed, there’s now Social Flights, which uses social media to allow travellers to share and coordinate travel plans to secure private aircraft for wherever they want to go.  By allowing travelers to use collective buying power travellers can have a luxury private trip for almost the same cost as using regular airline service.

It’s all about private jets, because who wants to go without mahogany panelling and gold-plated fixtures in the air?

I do believe there’s more for you to read:
