Sleep Underwater in the Maldives

Our love of the Maldives is well-known. Not only because the archipelago is a beautiful retreat, but also because it screams accessible exclusivity and it was the first nation to open a real virtual embassy in Second Life.

Hot on the heels of our recent post about the restaurant, Sea, we note that the Conrad Maldives not only has an underwater restaurant with 180° views of reef and marine life and Maldivian-Western fusion cuisine, but in honour of its 50th anniversary, last year it allowed guests to convert the space into a bedroom for a night and sleep fully enclosed in watery views.

Not for the aquaphobes amongst us, the glamorous thing to do is channel Esther Williams rather than Finding Nemo. At between $10-15K per night, I feel confident the glass is very, very strong.
