Equal Opportunity Hook-Ups: Blendr is the New Grindr

So for a while now the gays have had all the fun with Grindr, the iPhone, BlackBerry and Android app that allows you to find other Kylie fans by GPS location. Enter Blendr: the new Grindr for everyone of every persuasion and orientation. Made by those who brought Grindr to the handsets of every practising and aspiring homosexual, Joel Simkhai and Scott Lewallan, Blendr’s name is a take on the orignal; presumably because it gives serial killers another way to reduce victims they’ve met via the app to small bits in a blender in order to feed their fish.

Blendr has taken the GPS positioning a step further, allowing users to find each other based on interest as well as geography and even has a Facebook app for the horny who find themselves without a smartphone. We can only pray.

When in fact, here’s what it’s like in reality:

How it will adapt to the heterosexual (and derivatives thereof) world remains to be seen and whether the sausage fest will remain peppered with the promiscuous, or if in fact, it will become a harmonious meld of lonely hearts and genitalia.

What are your thoughts? Would you use Blendr to meet people? Leave your comments below.
