“Not tonight, dear, I have genital warts.” “Of course that dress doesn’t make you look like a transvestite.” “Inside beauty matters the most.” These are the lies we tell ourselves, our loved ones and of course, our loathed ones; small untruths that save face and feelings out of the placation of others.
Young graphic designer, Justin Barber‘s series of posters entitled “Truth and Lies” explores the humorous polarity between what we say to others and the underlying truths. Surprisingly, “I’m washing my hair and I don’t mean that on my head” is absent.
