With social media creeping into our real lives even more, social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter have become forums for airing one’s grievances. Sure a little collective sympathy might soothe the ego, but what can it do for a razor-sharp throat?
Now Heinz United Kingdom combines reality and the internet to give ailing consumers a good dose of TLC and Jewish penicillin. Facebook users can send a real can of “Get Well Soon” Heinz soup—either cream of chicken or cream of tomato—to their friend with a personalised message for £1.99, delivered in three to four days.
Not so good for a twenty-four-hour virus, possibly not the most sensitive for someone diagnosed with a terminal illness, however, perhaps a tongue-in-cheek congratulations for someone who has recently contracted chlamydia.
