Lord Coconut: Purveyors of Shiny Objects and Art for Men

I’m the first to admit to being a bit of a bower bird, easily distracted by shiny objects and passing hotties, it’s the exact reason I don’t have a driver’s license. Never have, doubtfully will; my decision not to get behind the wheel of an automobile is one of selfless sacrifice for the sake of humanity. Not because I prefer to be ferried around in a fleet of the city’s finest taxis—and on the very rare occasion—town cars, but by virtue that I’m protecting unwitting passersby from certain injury or death. I only have to utter, “Look, Gucci’s on sale!” and crash! I’ve run over an infant. You can’t have ‘manslaughter’ without ‘laughter’, but I doubt my quick wit would keep me out of harm’s way in the showers in Cell Block H.

Instead, rather than revering the ornaments that adorn the bonnets of luxury cars, I opt to collect other metallic trinkets of the miniature variety. Some would say it has become an obsession, what with the dinosaur necklaces and novelty bird rings that now take place in a drawer filled with similar schlock. I prefer to think of them essential and curious additions to outfits that become conversation-starters, paid for by compliments from complete strangers.

One such discovery is Lord Coconut, a specialty retailer in Melbourne, Australia that stocks contemporary jewellery, cufflinks and art for men. All jewellery is made by local artisans and jewellers and is available only in unique or limited editions. What’s even better is that you’re able to buy from their online store, so no matter where are you in the world, when the flash of shiny objects tickle your fancy, you can have something delivered to you with after relinquishing your credit card details. Crazy, no?
