Not Digging On You: LoCreep Mobile App for Group Ridicule

Everyone’s heard the same old formulaic pick-up lines: “Do you have any <Insert nationality here> in you?” “No” “Would you like some?” Foul. Perhaps what is even more repugnant is that those horrible lines have worked on others before? I don’t want to imagine that kind of person who would accept such a proposition. Not without a wipe down with a good amount of turpentine.

Well now there’s a new web-based app to get back at the creepiest of creeps, in a public forum. While it mightn’t be the most discreet nor pleasant of methods, Locreep is designed for groups of girlfriends to get in on the fun when being crept upon. When approached by said creep, the creepee gives an allocated phone number, which acts as a routing service for all creepy messages. When he calls he will hear an outbound message and be able to leave one himself, and he can also text the number, which all nominated lasses in a group receive in order to corroborate responses.

Sure it might be a bit of harmless fun, but it can be published to a public Tumblr (sans personal information such as names, numbers and addresses) for the entire world to see. Now who’s the creep?

See it in this rather comedic demonstration in the vein of theatre sports:

What are your thoughts on LoCreep, particularly its ethics? Too far or a bit of harmless fun?

I do believe there’s more for you to read:
