Are You Sure You Need An Apostrophe?

There is no greater revenge than the self-satisfaction that comes from knowing that someone you detest is stupid. Have you ever stalked a former lover/friend/colleague/someone you dated’s social media presence only to get out your giant and virtual red pen and have a field day picking out their flaws? It’s like learning that they wear incontinence nappies or a preformed bow tie; poor spelling and grammar are just so unsexy.

One of the greatest offenders is the misplaced or absent apostrophe, which recently has more of a prevalence in its incorrect form. Strangely, those who who’ve used it correctly in the past find themselves second-guessing when seeing it in high and erroneous rotation.  If you find yourself victim to peer pressure, Hudson Hongo has created a handy little website to reassure you of your choice of apostrophe placement. Are You Sure You Need An Apostrophe? asks you a series of little questions regarding whether it’s a plural, a contraction, a possessive or just plain superfluous and directs you to the correct outcome. There’s no word on whether Should You Really Date this Person? is in development.

I do believe there’s more for you to read:
