Colour WoodBlocking: Gentleman Arthur’s Range of Neckwear

How much wood would a woodblocker block if a woodblocker could block wood? Or something like that. Neckties have long been the domain of mass production, and while there’s some lovely designs, jacquards and prints about, they just don’t seem all that special. Gentleman Arthur is a bit different, though.

Founders, Messrs Sam Wagner and Evrim Eksi produce small runs of handprinted  and handcrafted neckties, adorned with woodblock prints and sewn together with quirky linings and unusual fabrics. For US$75, each style is named after a classic American author and has the On the Road spirit of adventure Kerouac had. Although, he’d probably stay away from the peach block print if he didn’t want to be strangled with his tie when riding in the back of someone’s pick-up truck.
