Travel Boldly: Dormify’s Retro-Inspired Travelgoods

These days when you travel internationally, you can expect the full pat-down and gestapo-like interrogation just for carrying your favourite moisturiser and other essential grooming products—does liquor count?—in your carry-on luggage. The indignity! There’s nothing frisky about a frisking and the official conducting it is usually some sweaty, pie-eating heavy-breather who hasn’t ever been instructed in the basics of personal hygiene. Why aren’t there hotties working Customs and why won’t they pat me down and rub me up?

Moving on … Given the Lycra-tight security we all face these days in air travel, there’s a high possibility that we’ll have to upturn our neatly packed totes, duffels and overnighters and have someone in standard-issue navy blue rifle through it and question the most banal of objets. Hello, Dormify and their fun travel range. Retro-inspired, acid-coloured; it’s a puts the ‘fun’ into ‘functional’ for those of swarthy complexion—apparently all of us—who are frequently searched in plain view.

Each is labelled cleanly and plainly, so next time a travel pig asks what a certain pouch contains, you can scoff and point to the label—how clever. There’s even a lingerie pouch, which is perfect for smalls (which aren’t often that small) and saving the embarrassment of underwear flying down a conveyor belt or in the direction of Duty Free. Priced between US$12 and $42, it’s a steal, leaving you more for the taxi fare or the bribes you must pay on foreign shores.

I do believe there’s more for you to read:
